Dog Boarding

While we take pride in having the kennels to accommodate Extra large breeds and Multi-Dog Families, ALL breeds and types of dogs are welcome.

Now you can get away and relax, knowing your pet is receiving the care, love and attention he or she would receive in his own home. BYD Kennel is located on a 45 acre ranch right outside of Bryan City Limits and offers a healthy atmosphere with personal attention to the needs of each pet.

Offering boarding services to the Bryan/College Station and surrounding areas, BYD Kennel was designed for the best of pet care, starting with its quiet country setting, we offer individual, super sized runs. Your pet has an 8x8 indoor room which leads to an 8x20 outdoor shaded run. The indoor areas are climate controlled in extreme weather, and encompass are protected by a monitored fire alarm and security system. Quiet music plays in the background. We believe that keeping your pet on the same diet he/she is on regularly helps keep the stress level low at boarding time. THEREFORE you must provide your pets food with his stay. We actively encourage you to bring a blanket with your home’s smell on it. Bring a toy if you wish, however we cannot guarantee that you will receive it back.

BYD Kennel is a family run business and the family lives on site.

Our aim is to provide a safe, clean, healthy, sanitary and comfortable environment for every pet boarded with us. In order for us to do this we have some requirements.

RESERVATIONS:

While your pet has our attention 24/7 --OUR KENNEL IS NOT OPEN 24/7. We believe that quiet and calm is the way to provide a stress free environment for the pets staying with us. You MUST CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to visit the kennel, to drop off or pick up your pet. Appointments are available at the following times:

Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM
Saturday 8AM to 10AM
Sunday 3PM to 5PM.
No appointments on major holidays

A reservation is as easy as a phone call or email. We will gather some basic information from you and take care of the rest for you. We will call your vet and confirm vaccination history. If you are not current we will let you know in advance what we need to finish your reservation.

KENNEL POLICIES:

We greatly appreciate all the support of our clients and because of your support we are now staying booked on a regular basis; because of this we have to now, regrettably institute the following policies for the kennel

If this is your first time with us --then we need for you to complete the following forms to confirm your reservation. Forms are located on the Forms page and you can download them and fax or mail them back to us. Please allow us time to process your vaccination confirmation. We accept Visa, MasterCard:

• Boarding Contract
• Pet Information sheet
• Credit Card Authorization sheet
• Medical Emergency Form
• Signed Policy Page

Once your vaccination record is confirmed, then so is your reservation. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Your pet must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella (vaccinated within the last 6 months of your pets stay with us). These vaccinations cannot come due during your stay with us.

We understand emergencies and will work with clients to help them through these times. In many cases, even if you do not have a set time for a reservation, we can set your records up in advance of an emergency. If this is not possible, we will need to be able to confirm vaccination records in order for your pet to stay with us. This has to be done during business hours. If we cannot confirm the vaccinations, regrettably we cannot take your reservation.

We never accept puppies under the age of 6 months or mothers with puppies on them. We feel that puppies at this age or in this situation are at high risk immunity wise and we will never willingly put your animals at risk of exposure.

While we know most people are considerate- we need to make sure that all of our clients have a fair chance at having a reservation. We are more than happy to accommodate your reservation request.  Please remember that we are holding your reservation request pending your pet's arrival. When we reach our total occupancy capacity we have to refuse reservation requests and turn business away.  If you do not cancel your reservations in a timely manner we are unable, in most instances, to re-book the space we have held for you.  This forces us to lose revenue.

NON-HOLIDAY CANCELLATION POLICY:

All cancellations must be done 24 hours prior to your arrival or there will be a 1 (one) day boarding charge for all pets with reservations. If you are a no show your credit card will be charged the full number of days that you had reserved.

HOLIDAY CANCELLATION POLICY

All Reservations Require A 25% Nonrefundable Deposit

If you cancel your reservation AT LEAST 14 DAYS BEFORE YOUR RESERVATION you WILL ONLY forfeit your 25% Deposit!!

If you cancel  your reservation within the 14 Day Period From The Date Of Your Reserved Arrival You Will Be Charged For YOUR ENTIRE BOOKED RESERVATION As A Cancellation/Change Fee.

Payment is to be rendered upon termination of the boarding stay. If you are staying longer than 15 days we will charge your Credit card every 15 days for payment. A current credit card and a signed authorization sheet must be on file with us.

We understand emergencies; HOWEVER, you need to understand that we need to be kept informed. If you do not contact us within 24 hours of the end of your stay, we will consider the dog abandoned. Please read your boarding contract very carefully.

EARLY RETURNS:

Early returns create a problem for us when you do not let us know in advance that you are going to return earlier than what you had scheduled at your check-in time.

Also, when we are full, (which is quite often during the summer months), we turn away additional business in order to provide space for your pet for the entire time you have reserved. This means, therefore, that if you return early, (because we are full and expect you to return on certain date), we are unable to provide services to other clients as we have for you. This forces us to have vacant runs and lose revenue. Please help us by giving us a call in advance if you are going to return early. Unfortunately, if we do not get at least one (1) day (24 hours) notice we are unable to reschedule your reserved space and therefore you will be charged for the complete number of booked days.

BOARDING FEES:

If you cancel more than 24 hours before your reservation, there is no charge. If you are a no show your credit card will be charged the full board on your reservation. If you cancel the same day as your reservation, you will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee.

BOARDING RATES:

Visa, MasterCard, Debit as well as Cash and Check Accepted  

The rate is $25.00 per night. That is for one dog in one kennel. The rate for each dog after that is $15.00 per dog. This is the price for every dog whether it is in the same kennel or a separate kennel

We do accept multiple Dog families. We will house them together UNLESS you wish otherwise.

Boarding charges are incurred for the first days stay, regardless of the arrival time that day. IF your pet is picked up before 12 NOON. (Exception: Saturday Hours 8-10 AM and Sunday 3-5 PM); you will not be charged for the last day of your pet’s stay HOWEVER If you cannot pick your pet up before NOON then you will be charged an additional night’s stay EVEN IF YOU PICK YOUR PET UP BEFORE 5PM.

Please remember that we had to tell another client to change their schedule in dropping their pet off. WE BOOK OUR KENNELS BACK TO BACK. IF YOU ARE LEAVING ON MONDAY MORNING WE HAVE A CLIENT BOOKED FOR THAT KENNEL FOR MONDAY NIGHT.WE TRY TO KEEP OUR KENNELS FULLY BOOKED. THIS IS OUR REVENUE. THIS IS THE SAME POLICY AS A HOTEL.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept or release dogs before 8am or after 5pm.

FOOD, FEEDING, SHOTS, SHOT RECORDS, OUR POLICY ON FLEAS AND OUR VIEW OF MICRO CHIPPING PETS AND COUNTY TAGS:  

FOOD AND FEEDING:

We want to make your dog’s stay as stress free as well. We ask that you bring enough food for your dog’s stay + 3 extra days. Food must be individually packed for each feeding and contain as much or as little food as you would NORMALLY feed your dog at home. The reason for this is that a change in diet disturbs your pet’s digestion system. We want to minimize the stress level in your dog so that he or she will have an enjoyable stay.

If you wish us to feed your pet, we feed a high quality dry food HOWEVER please understand that your pet may have bouts of diarrhea; with the change in their diet.

 If you want us to feed treats from home, bring them packaged and we will make sure that your pet will get them as many or as few times a day as you request. If you have medications we will be more than happy to continue their treatment. I your pet is easy to treat, there will be no additional charge, HOWEVER if the pet becomes difficult to treat, you may incur an additional fee of $2.00 per treatment.

VACCINATIONS, FLEAS

Your pet must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella (vaccinated within the last 6 months of your pets stay with us). These vaccinations cannot come due during your stay with us. We will accept titer results in lieu of DHLPP, however, Rabies and Bordatella must be current.

We believe in a Flea free environment, to keep us this way, your pet will receive CAPSTAR upon entering the kennel IF you are not an active Flea treatment plane (i.e. Advantix, Revolution, or some other similar program). CAPSTAR is a flea medication that works quickly and will not affect your dog in any way-except to quickly kill any fleas that may be present.

MICRO CHIPPING AND COUNTY TAGS:

We keep a very secure environment by having a dual fencing system, locks, a monitored security system and someone in attendance 24/7 HOWEVER even under these circumstances sometimes the worst case scenario happens and your pet gets away SO to provide us with the best possible way of finding your pet in this worst case scenario ……We fully believe and support the County in its efforts to have all pets Micro-chipped and County Tagged.
